Teaching

I bring constructionist principles of learning through experimental making and play to my teaching, encouraging students to be self-directed and motivated. My teaching and research inform one another, strengthened by my belief in integrating real world innovation, academic excellence and social values in design education.

Reflective practice features in my approach to teaching and I encourage all of my students to lead their own learning with personal practice-based experimentation. My approach to knowledge development allows students to take ownership of their learning process through project-based experiences and helps them to more clearly and confidently articulate their creative practice. Also drawing from my research practice, I strive to convey the importance and ethics of human-centred and community-led engagement across all design projects.
